Grants
Every year the US Department of Housing and Urban Development gives millions of dollars to local municipalities and counties. These funds are made available to first time home buyers trying to purchase a home in their jurisdiction. The Department of Community Affairs of many States also have funds available. Most of these grants have income and asset restrictions, usually based on the number of people that are going to reside in the home.
